Guitar walk through

To start this cake I baked 2 sheet cakes. The we made a template out of cardstock and cut out the cake from the pan. After getting one cut we preped it for filling and filled it with the fillings.

After this we added the next layer of cake and gave it it's crumb coat.

To cover the cake with fondant. I cut out the template in my fondant and laid it over the cake. Then I covered the sides with another color of fondant. ( ignore my child playing with a knife in the background.. I assure you it was removed from him quickly..)

I molded the tuners with fondant.

Then add the rest of the features using more card stock templates.

The strings are icing.

Baby bum Cake Tutorial

Here we go. This will be my first cake tutorial so bare with me if it's not that clear... :)

Baby bum covered with fondant. I just baked a normal cake in a round metal bowl, iced and covered it in fondant. I also cut away the sides a little so that the legs could fit in.

Place the bum on the cake. Be sure and put in dowels or wide straws to support the cake.

The feet and legs I molded out of rice krispies. I molded the feet to look like a kidney bean..

The feet and legs covered in fondant. After I covered the feet I took a sculpting tool and made impressions in the feet to make them look more lifelike. I also add little ruffles to the diaper.

Added the fondant blanket and decorations and it's done!!

Snicker~doodles

We were at a friends house the other day and they had made this delicious Snicker doodles. I was more than impressed. For one mine are always horrible and so I was excited when she gave me her recipe! Here you all go! These are great I suggest comparing to your own recipe!

One good tip with this kind of cookie is; bake until they are just barely, barely tan. If you over cook these they will be hard! So pay close attention!

Also some people say that you can use baking powder in place of your cream of tartar. I wouldn't recommend this. I believe it makes your cookies to hard.

Snicker Doodles
Cream Together:
1c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
Beat in:
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Then stir in:
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar ( works better than using baking powder)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes!

Easy as 1, 2, 3!!! Enjoy!!

*Thanks to the Hatch's for this great recipe!
